The 2025 Red Bull King of the Air (KOTA) was held at Kite Beach in Cape Town, South Africa. It marked a monumental event in Big Air history, featuring the first-ever “brother vs. brother” final between Lorenzo Casati and his 16-year-old brother, Leonardo Casati.

Highlights and Upsets

The event was filled with massive upsets. In Round 3, defending champion Andrea Principi was defeated by Zac Adams. In the same round, local favorite and top contender Jason van der Spuy was knocked out by dark horse Parker Sage. Pushing through extreme conditions, 20-year-old Lorenzo and debutant Leonardo (16 years and 5 months old) dominated the heats to reach the final. Leonardo broke the record for the youngest finalist in KOTA history.

Under immense pressure from his younger brother, Lorenzo executed highly technical combo tricks, sealing his victory with a massive jump in the final moments. He claimed his second KOTA crown and achieved the historic “Triple Crown” of Big Air by winning the GKA World Title, Megaloop, and KOTA in the same year.
