Event Overview
Held in Tarifa, Spain, the 2018 Jeep Tarifa Pro was a milestone event on the GKA World Tour. It marked the first time in five years that both the ‘Strapless Freestyle’ and ‘Air Games’ (Twin-Tip) disciplines were hosted together at the same event.
This event marked James Carew’s first time competing in Tarifa, though he later recalled it as a tough debut where he “never really scored the wind.”
Conditions & Diversity
On the opening day, the ‘Poniente’ wind (cross-onshore from the right) provided optimal kickers for the riders. The competition continued through Tarifa’s notoriously strong ‘Levante’ winds.
The event drew a massive field of athletes. The Strapless division saw 33 entries (including 6 women), while the Air Games division featured 38 men and 11 women from around the globe.

In the single elimination, Airton Cozzolino claimed his third victory in Tarifa.
