Overview
“Just continue training. At times it’s super hard, but just continue doing it and it’s going to be okay.”
Capucine Delannoy is a French professional kitesurfer. Earning her first World Championship title at the age of 16, she is a top athlete leading the global scene in the strapless freestyle and wave riding disciplines.
Career
Born in France, Capucine moved to Prea, Brazil, with her family at the age of seven. Known as the “paradise of strapless freestyle,” Prea’s consistent strong winds provided the perfect training ground where she honed her skills alongside her brother, Camille Delannoy. She attended an online school to balance her education with the world tour.
In 2018, at just 12 years old, she made her tour debut as a wildcard at an event in Prea. In 2021, at the GKA Sylt, she made history by becoming the first female rider to land a “double front roll” in competition. She further etched her name in the history books at the 2024 Sylt event, where she executed a “front roll shove it,” scoring the first-ever perfect 10.0 in women’s competition history.
At 16, she claimed the 2022 GKA Kite-Surf World Championship, securing the Big Air world title the same year. She holds multiple world titles.

Personality and Relationships
Known for her constant big smile and positive energy, she likes to clear her mind by listening to music before heats. She grew up in a kitesurfing family: her father (coach and former hang gliding world champion), sister (5-time Jiu-Jitsu world champion), pro kitesurfer brother Camille Delannoy, and younger brother Teva. A dinner conversation where they joked about how amazing it would be if she became a world champion in kitesurfing—just like her dad and sister in their sports—became her greatest drive.
She receives tactical support from wave riding legend Mitu Monteiro. She shares fierce and mutually inspiring rivalries with Moona Whyte from Hawaii and Camille Losserand from Switzerland.
